Benefits Designed for Environmental Jobs

Your employees face elements outdoors that office workers don’t—intense UV radiation, heat, heavy lifting, and dangerous machinery. Our health plans match the risks of the landscaping workforce.

1.  Access to Care 24/7

Concern: Landscapers in Hawaii have some of the highest occupational sun exposure in the state. If an arborist has skin concerns after long hours in the sun, leaving a jobsite for 3 hours to sit in an urgent care waiting room to speak with a Dermatologist interrupts productivity and delays the schedule.

HMAA Solution: Through HiDoc® members can talk with a local doctor online or by phone within minutes anytime, anywhere—at no cost. They can get a diagnosis and prescription without waiting for a clinic to open, helping them recover and return to work more quickly. If they feel stressed and want to consult with a therapist, mental health concerns can also be treated through HiDoc®. Consultations are intended to work in tandem with your primary care physician (PCP), not as a replacement.

2. Physical Maintenance with Alternative Care Benefits

Concern: Landscaping is a physically demanding profession. Repetitive motion, heavy lifting of plants, and clearing debris can lead to musculoskeletal issues take a toll on your back, wrists, and joints.

HMAA Solution: Our medical plans include Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Massage, and Naturopathic services. Regular back and hip adjustments and massage therapy can keep your crew working pain-free and reduce the likelihood of a major injury.

3. Your Health is Our Priority

Concern: Health concerns can lead to accidents on the job.

HMAA Solution: Our health plans include a unique suite of wellness solutions such as worksite flu vaccinations and biometric screenings, free incentives for expectant moms, disease prevention programs, worksite wellness planning assistance, and other resources can support the well-being of your employees and boost retention (requirements apply). Our Member Plus discounts and special offers from local merchants are extra perks in their pocket that add value to their membership.

4. We’ve Got You Covered

Concern: Beyond professional growth and safety, employees look for exceptional benefits and improved work-life balance when looking for a job.

HMAA Solution: To supplement our medical PPO plans, HMAA offers vision benefits, prescription drug, dental and orthodontia, life/AD&D insurance, and Active&Fit ® coverage. Our vision plans are especially popular in the landscaping industry, covering annual exams and corrective lenses which are vital for safety.
